Alhamdullilah, setelah hampir dua tahun baru lah kamus istilah yang diusahakan selesai. Saya telah dipilih untuk menyiapkan kamus tersebut bersama seorang professor dari UPM. Kamus yang dimaksudkan ialah Kamus Istilah :Agronomi. Pada saat akhir kami masukan gambar-gambar yang berkaitan. Adajuga kala susah mencari gambar tersebut. Insya Allah kamus tersbut akan diterbitkan DBP pada tahun hadapan kerana hampir semua entri sudah siap. Kamus ini boleh digunakan di Indonesia, Brunei dan juga Malaysia.
Masih terdapat banyak istilah istilah perlu di terjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Melayu memandangkan vocab dalam bahasa Inggeris sangat banyak. Sekiranya kita mahu memajukan bahasa Melayu perlulah di iringi dengan istilah- istilah dari segala cabang ilmu. Perlu ada pengorbanan yang serius dari kita untuk memajukan bahasa kita walaupun kita tidak nafikan perana Bahasa Inggeris.
Saya berasa integrasi kaum bermula dari bahasa. Kita tidak mahu di Malaysia orang Cina cakap Mandarin atau Hakka, orang India cakap Tamil-mereka boleh berbahasa ibunda dirumah tetapi tidak dikhalayak ramai.
Saya rasa itulah sedikit sumbangan saya untuk generasi yang akan datang.

External Examiner
Saya baru saja menghadiri VIVA seorang pelajar Master. Saya adalah seorang pemeriksa luar atau external examiner untuk pelajar tersebut. Oleh kerana saya 'orang luar' universiti saya di beri peluang dahulu untuk komen manuscript / thesis tersebut. Apa yang saya dapati bahawa
Technically, this thesis contains sufficient data and material to be awarded M.Sc however; there are too many mistakes and comments needed to corrected as well as need to be improved as to meet the university standards and requirements.
Major Comments
1.There is no statement of problem, hypothesis and scope of study in the Introduction (pg 3)
2.There is no experimental objective per se and its connectivity or linkages with each objective in Introduction (pg 3)
3.There are so many references which are not are listed in the REFERENCES; this includes references which are not quoted simply written in REFERENCES.
4There is no general discussions and conclusions which can ‘wrap up’ or summarise overall experiment (pg 111)
5.There is poor interpretation of result which could relate findings with its applications in the Malaysian conditions.
6.Statement given for example …..heavy rain …(pg 69 ) should be supported by rainfall data of a particular location.
7.Some of the comments I have directly pointed out in the manuscript need to be noted.
Minor Comments
1. Some units are not correctly used eg pg 23,29
2. Graph legends are not correct labeled pg. 50
3. Graph symbols are not consistent pg 33
4. Result : write up are not written properly – due to many errors in spelling and
vocabulary. ( eg. should be MAIN season not MEAN season. pg 69,70 …
5. In Experiment 1, last para pg 13 should include molecular analysis
6. List of figures not tally with paging throughout e.g pg iii
7. Graphs are not properly labeled
8. List of graphs did not follow sequence in the text.
9. Tables not fully labelled properly e.g pg 58, 62
10. Figure 1 are not numbered properly
11. For every page there are mistakes which left unchecked.
Pada pendapat saya superviser atau penyelia mestilah memantau penulisan pelajar dan memberi panduan kearah penulis thesis yang betul.
Keputusan peperiksaan tersebut ialah: Pass with major correction.
